Gary Renner
Born in 1982 in Cincinnati, OH, Gary Renner began formally painting in 2006 inspired to create works for his home in Eden Park. After searching through many local art shows and gallaries to find the right piece to match the Arts and Crafts fireplace mantel, 12 foot ceilings, and oak wood floors he began sketching out the work he envisioned and decided to step out and create it himself. He has never had a formal art class nor art lesson but is driven by simple designs and contrasting color. In many ways his works are “architecture on canvas” as Gary has always enjoyed drawing houses and studying architectural books but decided on Marketing & Branding as a career attending University of Cincinnati for Bachelors in Business (’04) and Masters in Marketing (’12). Gary continues to allow architecture inspire his work and admires works of fellow University of Cincinnati alumnus Michael Graves as well as Frank Lloyd Wright, Francis Marion Stokes, Bernard Maybeck and renowned Cincinnati architect Samuel Hannaford. He loves the colors of Kandinsky, and the form of Cincinnati modern artist Charlie Harper. Most of his work is inspired and directed by the space it fits in, designed especially for a specific room on a specific wall to complement a specific environment.
